Open Call for Performing Artists and Groups – Cohort 3 (2025/2026)

“The Fellowship” is a 9-month programme designed to equip 25 performing arts groups from various disciplines—including music, theatre, dance, and spoken word—with essential technical, managerial, marketing, and digital capacities. Targeting artists from the MENA region, including Sudan, the programme empowers participants to advance to the next stage in their careers, achieve financial sustainability, and thrive in the digital era.

The BASITA Fellowship concludes with the BAB ElBAHR Hybrid Festival, where selected performances will be produced and showcased both live in theatres and virtually via Basita.live, making them accessible to audiences across the globe.

Fellowship Structure

  • 6-month Mentorship with Acclaimed Artists and Cultural Practitioners from the Region
  • Kick-off Seminar (Virtual): Sessions on strategic planning in the digital age, digital and online marketing, institutional resilience, and fundraising strategies.
  • One-to-One Mentorship: 4–6 hours/month of personalized mentorship (face-to-face and virtual) with Basita founders and regional industry professionals, supported by 10 hours/month of individual work and assignments.
  • Monthly Case Clinics: Two group meetings per month to collaboratively address ongoing challenges.
  • Monthly Virtual Check-ins: All 25 groups meet to share updates, review individual progress, and reflect on insights from Case Clinics.
  • Closing Seminar (Face-to-Face in Egypt): Evaluation, feedback, and presentation of strategic plans and outcomes during the Bab ElBahr Festival.

Each participant will produce one performance, potentially in collaboration with a host institution in their home country. These performances will be featured in the Bab ElBahr Hybrid Festival, both live and streamed on Basita.live for international audiences.
